The Music Box Concerts & Why Beginner Musicians Love Them

Drum Lessons in Carrollwood Florida, 33618

Nothing beats the energy bouncing back and forth between a band and the audience in a live setting. This wordless communication is primal, organic, and before anything else, honest, which are just some of the reasons why so many people can’t imagine a world without live concerts.

As the premier provider of online music lessons in Tampa, Florida, The Music Box is keeping the flame alive, preparing youngsters and beginners for shows by teaching them how to perform in a band and enabling them to rock out at renowned venues.

Why Are Live Concerts More Important Than Ever?

The past couple of years have made a dent in the live music industry, but The Music Box is here to help its students, their families, friends, and fans learn and experience all the benefits live concerts have to bring, such as:

    (Re)Socialization

People are social beings, and one of the best places to mingle, find new friends, and enjoy the company of other people is to be at a concert.

Band members strengthen their bonds with each show they play while communication with the crowd gives a sense of belonging as if everyone in the room is a part of one large, tight-knit family.

After months of lockdowns and venues being closed for bands to perform in, live concerts and music are more important than they’ve ever been. Millions of people and musicians are starved for social interaction, and finally, the world gets to enjoy hearing bands perform on the stage.

    Self-Esteem Boost

Numerous studies conducted in the past several decades have at first suggested and later proved that playing music has a highly positive effect on the player’s confidence level.

Whether the player is a 4-year-old child, a teenager, an adult, or a senior, playing music helps us express the feelings we can’t put into words or other actions.

These effects are significantly higher when a person is playing an instrument in a group. Not only do people get to learn more about music this way but they also feed off of each other’s energy, grow more confident in their abilities, and get to strengthen their relationships.

Playing in front of a live audience is the ultimate reward a musician can ask for. Recognition of their art, personality, and skill can come in many forms, whether it be something as subtle as the crowd sticking around for the next song, something as obvious as a thundering applause, or the largest confidence booster a human being can experience – the audience singing along the songs. These magical things are exclusive to live concerts and can never be captured on a set of headphones or speakers.

    New, Budding Friendships

Some people don’t mind approaching strangers in a coffee shop, or even on the street while searching for new friendships, but aside from extremely extroverted individuals, not many people are too fond of this idea.

This does not apply to live concert environments, though. People attending a concert “know” that they have at least one thing in common with the rest of the crowd – love for the music.

Whether they’re die-hard fans of the band performing that evening or simply like the particular genre, audience members attending a rock/metal concert never have to pop one of the most awkward questions in the book – “what do you listen to?”.

As open-hearted, forward-thinking, and genuinely cool individuals, fans of all types of rock, punk, and alternative music genres have this unique capability of forming new friendships wherever a concert is held.

While searching for friends online may feel easier, nothing beats organic roots, live-spoken words, and face-to-face conversations, especially if the music in the background is cranked up to 13.

The Music Box Carving a Path for Future Performers

Playing music in front of an audience is one of the main goals that most scholars of music aspire to. The Music Box is the leading provider of music lessons in the Tampa, FL region, as well as the premier organizer of rock bands and live gigs for its students.

Unlike dozens of music lesson platforms that are laser-focused on theoretical aspects of music, The Music Box is more concerned with its practical elements. That’s why we include numerous performing-oriented programs, such as the KidzRock program for the youngest rockers in Tampa, or the Open Mic Nights for aspiring singers.

Preparing Beginners for Real RN’R Experiences

Learning how to communicate and “exist” in a rock band involves years of trial and error. Rock and roll musicians performing as a group are both friends and co-workers, so finding the right balance between the two does not come naturally for many people.

That’s why The Music Box has instructors with years of experience playing in a broad range of bands; our expert teachers create rock bands by putting students with the highest affinities between each other in the same groups, ensuring that they’ll gel together nicely in all aspects.

See You at “The Crowbar” in February

After years of forming student rock bands and helping them experience what it feels to perform in front of a live crowd in a controlled environment (in our facilities), The Music Box felt the time has come to let our students sprout their wings and fly over to Tampa’s finest RN’R bar, “The Crowbar”.

After our brilliant rockers exceeded all expectations in the past couple of months, they’ve shown that they are more than ready to take on Tampa’s die-hard rock fan audiences. Famous for its massive 22-foot podium, gear, and in-house specialists, we can’t wait to see the youngest Floridan virtuosos have a blast at “The Crowbar” on the big stage.
