The Music Box Florida Music School Launches Brass Lessons for Junior High & High Schoolers

    BRASS LESSONS

Without brass instruments, we wouldn’t have funk, jazz, and rock as we know them today. Saxophones, trumpets, and trombones make people want to dance, and whether you were invited to a local music group or want to join your school band, you are probably wondering how difficult it is to master one of these instruments.

Enter The Music Box, the best provider of music lessons in Tampa, Florida, and beyond. Our lead brass coach Sebastian Perdomo has already transformed many greenhorn trumpet and sax players into full-fledged pros, and we’re accepting a limited amount of brass students with the same mission.

The Music Box Advantage – What Makes Our Brass Lessons Different

Brass instruments are usually taught in junior high and high school, but most students don’t get to learn much since the professor’s attention is divided among 20-30 people.

Even the most diligent and observant professionals would find it challenging to notice every detail and mistake while teaching so many people, and what makes The Music Box different is that our brass lessons are always one on one.

Our head brass coach Sebastian Perdomo is among the most qualified and highly experienced musicians and music coaches in Tampa, and he is committed to ensuring each brass student has what it takes to break through the plateau and reach the next level in playing skill.

Innovative lessons far removed from the rigidity of more “traditional” teachings are what sets us apart from your average music school. In the following sections, we’ll explain in detail what you can expect by enrolling in The Music Box for premium quality brass lessons.

If you want a quick tour, feel free to check out our TikTok page for videos and shorts of our young students rocking out with their coaches.

Each Lesson is Custom Made for You

Since our format of brass lessons is 1-on-1, your brass coach won’t need to craft a flexible, well-rounded curriculum that can cater to dozens of different students.

We are accepting a limited number of students so that Sebastian, our lead brass coach, can invest his full attention in each and every one of The Music Box’s brass players.

Some students need a bit longer to learn to breathe while they play; some students are struggling to properly hold their brass instruments.

We respect everyone’s individuality and pace while recognizing that only by creating bespoke lessons can we accurately locate the strengths, weaknesses, and potential of all of our students.

Lessons for All Skill & Experience Levels

Our students come from various junior highs and high schools. Some have had the privilege to learn from competent teachers while many people never had a brass lesson.

Regardless of which category you fit into, you’ll have an opportunity to show everything you know, tell your brass coach what you want to learn, and gradually make progress toward your goals.

Sebastian has already worked with innumerable brass students; from immediate beginners to people who’ve played in a couple of bands to advanced players who needed a bit of assistance with more complex techniques.

If your primary goal is to learn how to proficiently play a brass instrument for your school band, orchestra, or the rock band you always wanted to create, The Music Box is the perfect place for you to start polishing your skills.

    A Positive, Energetic Environment

Decades of teaching have helped us understand that most junior high and high school students don’t hate “education” per se; they hate the draining, boring atmosphere that is usually created by teachers who aren’t particularly happy with what they do.

Music is our passion, and all of our coaches strive to create a positive, friendly space where students not only learn but have fun and can’t wait to return to.

We know that there are many shy teens who can hardly imagine learning a new brass instrument in a group comprised of strangers. That’s another reason why we’ve decided to offer one-on-one lessons; not only do our students progress much faster this way, but the ice gets broken quicker and the positive vibes of The Music Box work their magic.

Don’t take our word for it. You can check out how our students interact with their coaches and showcase their skills on our Instagram page.

We Make Learning how to Play Brass Instruments Fun & Easy

Our logic is simple. If you’re not in love with your instrument, you’ll treat it as work. Consequentially, coming over for your brass lessons will feel like a chore. We want you to have fun at The Music Box – that’s the ultimate point of playing any instrument.

While most people can pick up a guitar and eventually learn a couple of chords, we understand that brass instruments are slightly more complex. That’s why we take great care while creating lessons for each student, striving to keep things simple and as entertaining as possible.

You’ll get to hear tons of stories, examples, and songs you probably never heard on a brass instrument before during your lessons. Moreover, you can always ask Sebastian to show you how your favorite songs are played on a brass instrument.
